Stay after dark and help us celebrate summer during Nighttime Zoo. Come “rock and roar” every day this summer with live music, fun shows, and special animal encounters. June 17 through September 3, 2018.

Entertainment

    A remarkable musical processional of spectacular pageantry puppets, channleing the "vibe," vitality, and diversity of life on the continent of Africa.

  • Chameleons brass band
    Chameleons

    Times: June 17–29: 4:30, 5:30, and 6:30 p.m.; June 30–September 3: 4:45, 5:30, and 7 p.m.

    This brass band changes tunes like its namesake changes colors! From funk to Beach Boys and beyond, their musical stylings (and jokes!) are sure to bring a smile to your face. Watch for our roving brass band and join in the fun.

    Oh, my! Our Fearless Leader of Fun has his hands full as his Zoo character "helpers" steal the show and bring the laughs.

    Call of the Night

    Times: 8 p.m.

    A special performance (June 30 through September 3 only) with live music, rhythmic acrobats, lasers, moving lights, fog, and bubbles. As the sun sets, the Earth comes to life and the atmosphere takes on a beat of its own. Swirling colors above call to the beat down below, creating a movement of the soul and a celebration of the day gone by.

    Enjoy some "face time" with our beautiful pageantry puppets. Great photo opportunity!

    Join our keepers as they share stories about and insights into the animals they care for.

    Raccoon Surprise

    Times: 7 p.m.

    Our keepers provide enricment for the animals in the form of food items hidden in objects or scents dotted around the habitat. Stop by and see what they've put together for our clever raccoon, and watch its ingenious mind at work.

    Times: 5:30 p.m.

    Get in the swing of summer fun at our hula-hoop-di-doo. Grab a hoop and give it a spin!

    These amazing artists stand tall and walk the walk! Enjoy their craft and get some great photos at the Africa Rocks Garden.

    Here's a fun way for kids (and even adults!) to channel their energy and excitement by bustin' some Zoolamoves! Our enthusiastic staff has lots of movement games in store, like freeze-dancing, limbo, and more.

    Enjoy specialty cocktails, glasses of featured wines or beers, and items from our $6 menu. Stay for dinner and make it a special occasion. Reservations are not required but are recommended. Call 619-685-3200 to reserve your table.
